Description
Current Lot George III Gilt Racing Trophy In the popular Greco-Roman "Warwick Vase" form, this magnificent example of Georgian silver, was made in the year of George III's reign by leading London goldsmith Phillip Rundell, best known for his patronage by the Royal family. Boldly engraved with Royal armorials within laurel border on one face, the verso bears an inscription identifying this as "The Chester Vase," presented as a horse racing trophy in 1937. Base and cover clearly marked. Height 17". Weight 118 oz.
